What's your favorite scary movie?

Everyone  who knows me knows that I love the Horror Genre. I can't really say what my favorite horror movie is but I am a huge fan of the Elm Street series, Halloween series, the Scream series and the Friday the 13th movies. Some of those in the series aren't as good as others but I like those as a whole. I will give my assesment of those movies in future blogs. I will go through movie by movie but that is for a different time.  I go nuts at the bargain basement DVD's, I will buy any horror film I find. I have gotten a little less impulsive and selective when I buy them but I still go crazy. Here are some pics of some of the movies I have purchased on a whim:

 I have some pretty obscure horror films but my favorite off beat horror film is one called "Bay of Blood" (English name) came out in 1971,  it is an Italian movie starring Claudine Auger who played Domino in the James Bond film "Thunderball" (thats another blog)  the director is Mario Bava who is considered one of the masters of Italian horror, some call him the Italian Hitchcock (IMDB, 2011). This movie has several names and IMDB has it listed as "Twitch of the Death Nerve" here is the imdb link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067656/ The movie isn't as bloody as the title on my DVD suggests but it was one of the first movies released in the U.S. to show that much blood. This movie is said to be "The inspiration for the making of Friday the 13th..." (E! Online 1999) The movie is definately worth watching at least once if you are a seasoned horror fan you will definately want to see it, however you must keep in mind that it was made in the late 60's and released in 1971, you can tell it is suppose to be a serious horror film but with todays standards it definately delivers some cheese. I definately give my approval to the horror fans out there. So check it out it used to be on Netflix (haven't looked for it in awhile), if I know you and you want to borrow it let me know. So go check it out and let the cheesiness begin!

My Movie Blog

    I just wanted to start this blog by explaining what's the purpose of my posts. I am a fulltime student and work fulltime. I have a caring family and we don't get to go to the movies like we want to. Most of the time we catch things when it comes out on DVD, hence the title. I want to use the blog not to keep up with the current movies but rather talk about my favorite styles of movies and give my input to help you get an idea of what may or may not be good movies in my opinion. This might help decide whether or not you want to see something. I always take into consideration peoples opinions before I see something.

    I will  post my opinion about a movie I saw in the theatre, I do go to movies just not frequently. I do tend to ramble and may post a spoiler or two so be fore warned but I won't indulge the ending of a film. I may even chime in on a TV show occasionally especially ones like True Blood that I watch on DVD. Feel free to give your feedback, I love a good debate so comment as much as you like but keep in mind these are just opinions I am not trying to push anything on anyone.
